Partner

Nick Dryden is a third generation architect in Tennessee - his grandfather or father has been at the helm of Allen N. Dryden Architects in Kingsport since the 1920's. After graduating from the University of Tennessee College of Architecture with Honors, Nick started his career in Nashville to carry forward his family's tradition of passionate design, albeit with a modern twist. While attending UT, Nick nurtured his appreciation for construction by completing a boat building apprenticeship in Massachusetts. He also studied Urban Design and Architecture in Krakow, Poland. Nick continues to lecture at the College of Architecture and frequently sits on design review juries.

In 1996, he joined Everton Oglesby Askew Architects as a lead project architect. While at EOA, the firm received many design awards in which Nick played an integral role, including local and regional AIA Awards, Excellence in Development and Historical Commission Commendations.

Since establishing DA|AD, Dryden has continued to garner accolades for his work. Projects under his leadership have received local and state awards, commendations from the Metro Nashville Historical Commission and an Excellence in Development Award. His projects have also been featured in multiple issues of Multi-Family Trends magazine, along with an interview regarding designing infill development projects in "middle market" communities.
