227 Lauderdale
Nashville, Tennessee
This project is a unique in-fill residence in Nashville's fashionable Cherokee Park area, just off West End Avenue. The developer wanted an open floor plan with a variety of spaces that would appeal to potential buyers. To accomplish that goal, the living spaces include a master suite on the lower level with the kitchen, family, breakfast and dining rooms, while the upper level has a media room, two bedrooms and baths plus a laundry. The large pantry between the kitchen and dining room was outfitted with a washer and dryer connection in the event that the prospective homeowner wanted to have the laundry facility on the main level of the home.
Another feature is an alcove in each upstairs bedroom to be used as a sitting or study area. Exhaustive measures were taken t insure the exterior fit into the existing neighborhood, including exposed cedar rafter tails and 1x8 poplar decking in the exposed eaves. The exterior design fell under a Historic Review Board for approval, which they granted on first viewing.
