The Gulch Residence

The Gulch is a mixed-use urban redevelopment project in downtown Nashville developed by Armistead Barkley, Inc. The program for this urban neighborhood includes residential, retail and commercial space throughout the development.
Retail spaces line the lower level of this project on the three streets it sits. The upper floors provide 85 mixed-income loft-style apartments and condos, ranging from 550 sq/ft studio lofts to 2000 sq/ft three bedroom rooftop condos.
There is a dynamic break in the massing of the building that opens the center of the block into a public park that is accessible from 12th Avenue. While there will be access to this space for general services for the retail spaces, it will be open to residents and the public alike, for events ranging from lounging to outdoor movies.
An adjacent warehouse shall provide the park with an existing wall for multimedia projections: an urban drive-in theater of sorts.
